Coalition armies control only 40 % of Baghdad’s territory

As the general-lieutenant of American army has informed, five months later after the beginning of campaign on decrease in a level of violence over Baghdad coalition armies completely managed to take under the control only 40 % of Baghdad’s territory.
It was also informed, that about 40 % of territory “are really quiet”, on 30 % the control is insufficient, and the remained 30 % suffer from “a high level of violence”.
The plan of safety strengthening in Baghdad has been put into operation in February, 2007. According to available data, only 146 of 457 areas of the Iraq capital are under the control of the American or Iraq governmental forces. Earlier the American investigation informed that the intercommoned violence over introduction of the strengthened order of patrolling over areas has gone on a loss, but in the western part of city, where Sunnites and Shiites live in common, the problem has become extremely aggravated.
The plan of the strengthened patrolling in Baghdad provides expansion of additional armies in structure of more 20 thousand people in city. According to the representative of the American command of lieutenant colonel Christopher Garver, before arrival of all reinforcements it is too prematurely to judge about the efficiency of the plan. It is worth of mentioning that in May the American armies have lost 127 soldiers in Iraq.

 


“Hamas” has recognized Mahmoud Abbas as the president of Palestine

Radical movement “Hamas” recognizes chairman of the Palestinian national administration Mahmoud Abbas as the president of autonomy and is ready to negotiations with him in the contest of Palestinians’ “national interests”. Such application was made by the political “Hamas” leader” Khaled Meshaal in Syria.
He has named an establishment of the control over Gaza Strip by “Hamas” supporters as an emergency measure for struggle against the state, “which wished to impose it to all “. Khaled Meshaal has added that they have been compelled to take such measures, we did not want it, but it was necessary for them. H.Mashaal has called League of the Arabian states to help with the organization of negotiations between Mahmoud Abbas and “Hamas”.
On the eve Mahmoud Abbas has appointed the Palestinian Finance Minister Salam Fayad as prime minister of an emergency government. It is worth of mentioning that Salam Fayad was in the previous government Finance Minister. Fayad is considered as the moderate politician with good contacts in the West.
On June, 14th, 2007, in connection with capture of Gaza Strip Mahmoud Abbas has sent in resignation the Prime Minister Ismael Hania and has also dismissed the coalition government and has declared state of emergency in the autonomy. However, “Hamas” has not obeyed to the decision of the president.

“Hamas”, which has established the full control over Gaza Strip, has proclaimed the approach of validity and of the Muslim leadership era.

Act of terrorism in Beirut: victims and wounded

One more act of terrorism has occurred in Beirut. This time the explosive has worked on Lebanese capital’s quay. On preliminary data, the bomb was fixed in the car, parked not far from the quay.
As agency Associated Press, referring to local law enforcement bodies, informs, in the result of incident 4 people have been killed and 10 more - have received wounds of a various degree.
Local TV-channels assume, that actually, explosion was the attempt of death action of the of Lebanese parliament deputy, who repeatedly acted with the anti-Syrian applications. Under last information, he is among victims.
For the last some weeks in Beirut and its suburbs the whole series of the acts of terrorism connected, most likely, with special operation, which the Lebanese army is carrying out against insurgents of the extremist organizations in camp of refugees in the north of the country, have occurred.
Earlier both public persons and ordinary citizens became objects of explosions. Some acts of terrorism have occurred in Christian suburbs of Beirut.
Many Lebanese politicians consider, that government of Syria stands behind acts of terrorism, however, there are no  direct proofs of that Damascus has the direct attitude to attacks of extremists.

 

 


Fatah can resign from the structure of the Palestinian government

Fatah, the party of chairman of the Palestinian national administration, lead by Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas considers an opportunity of resigning from the government of national unity. As Palestinian Authority President has noted Fatah will consider the problem on, whether to remain in the government and parliament.
Necessity of these opportunities’ consideration has arisen in connection with again flashed collisions between active workers of Fatah and Hamas movements. For last two days victims of such firing have killed 17 people.
The aggravation has reached already such stage that the House of Palestinian Authority Prime Minister Ismael Hania has been fired on the eve.
However, Hania has been exposed to bombardment for several times - in the end of May Israel has been attacking two objects of Hamas grouping in Gaza, located in immediate proximity from a residence of the prime minister, for two days .
Representatives of the Israeli army have confirmed the fact of Shati refugee camp’s aviaimpact, which is located on the outskirts of Gaza City, however they have noted, that Hania was not the reason of bombardment.

 


Indonesian police has arrested the “terrorist number one”

On Monday the “terrorist number one” Abu Dujana has been arrested in Indonesia. Such information has been given by the Australian radio, referring to a source in elite antiterrorist Detachment 88.
On its data, the chapter of the militarized wing of the regional terrorist organization, operating across all Southeast Asia have been detained during police spot-check in a province the Central Java together with several insurgents, and they are being interrogated now.

The given application of the Iranian foreign policy department has followed charges from the prime minister of the Great Britain Tony Blair that Iran supports Afghani terrorist movement “Taliban”.
As the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iran has emphasized, T.Blair’s government does not have any justifications to the interventional policy in Near-Eastern region and to constant defeats in Afghanistan and Iraq, therefore, it resorts to so unreasonable charges. Then the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iran has added that, carrying out of secret negotiations between representatives of the British command and leaders of the Taliban causes suspicion of that the Great Britain supports carrying out of acts of terrorism in Afghanistan. In M.Mottaki’s opinion, acts of terrorism in Afghanistan play advantage of the justification of policy of the British government. Besides this, M.Mottaki has accused British military men of preparation of terrorists, who carry out acts of terrorism in the south of Iran.
Except for London’s policy in Afghanistan, Iran has ignored all countries of “the big eight “, having scarified their preventions of possible acceptance of new sanctions from UN Security Council for refusal of Iran to stop work on enrichment of uranium. The official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iran has declared that the application of the countries of “the big eight” contradicts to the will of the international community to resolve the given question by diplomatic negotiations.

US Secretary of State has called Turkey to not interfere in Iraq

US Secretary of State Condoleeza Rice has called Turkey to not interfere into Iraq. She has also warned that scale military operation against Kurdish insurgents in the north of Iraq can heat conditions in the Near East. As Condoleeza Rice has noted, Turkish intrusion will not bring anything good to anybody - neither Turkey, nor to Iraq.
On May, 30th, 2007 military command of Turkey has made a decision to concentrate on southern border of the country a plenty of a military contingent and heavy techniques. Military divisions have been directed to frontier area with Iraq, tanks and armored troop-carriers.
Representatives of command have declared that redislocation and escalating of presence at region are the precautionary measure for prevention of penetration of the Kurdish insurgents connected with Kurdish working party on territory of Turkey.
According to Turkish militaries, the salvation of Kurdish problem should be a common cause of Iraq and Turkey, as nearby 6 thousand insurgents of Kurdish movement operate in mountain areas of two countries’ border.
In the beginning of June information that Turkish armies have intruded on territory of Iraq has appeared, however local residents have not confirmed this information, and later the fact of intrusion has been officially denied by Ankara.

Turkey has officially denied the message on intervention of their armies on the territory of Iraq in connection with carrying out of military operations against active workers of separative Kurdish movement. Turkish Foreign Minister Abdullah Gul has declared, that “currently there is no invasion of a foreign country”.
At the same time representatives of Kurds in territory of Iraq have informed, that 10 helicopters of the Turkish Air Forces have landed in the village Mazouri, located in 3 km deep into of territory of Iraq from the Turkish-Iraq border. 2 hours later after the arrival helicopters have departed. Nothing has been informed about collisions with separatists.
On the eve there was a message in the evening that, on informal data, some thousand Turkish troops have crossed border and have intervened into the territory of Iraq, pursuing Kurdish insurgents. Anonymous sources in Turkish security services have informed, that this action is not “the massed approach” as quantity Turkish soldiers “does not make tens thousand”.
