Turkey has officially denied the message on intervention of their armies on the territory of Iraq in connection with carrying out of military operations against active workers of separative Kurdish movement. Turkish Foreign Minister Abdullah Gul has declared, that “currently there is no invasion of a foreign countryâ€.
At the same time representatives of Kurds in territory of Iraq have informed, that 10 helicopters of the Turkish Air Forces have landed in the village Mazouri, located in 3 km deep into of territory of Iraq from the Turkish-Iraq border. 2 hours later after the arrival helicopters have departed. Nothing has been informed about collisions with separatists.
On the eve there was a message in the evening that, on informal data, some thousand Turkish troops have crossed border and have intervened into the territory of Iraq, pursuing Kurdish insurgents. Anonymous sources in Turkish security services have informed, that this action is not “the massed approach” as quantity Turkish soldiers “does not make tens thousand”.
Meanwhile on May, 30th, 2007 on southern border of Turkey military contingent and heavy techniques has been concentrated: some military divisions, tanks and armored troop-carriers. Representatives of command have declared that redislocation and escalating of presence at region are a preventive measure for prevention of penetration on territory of Turkey of the Kurdish insurgents connected with Kurdish working party.
