The arrested in Iran former representative of the country at negotiations under the nuclear program will be accused of espionage.
As the public prosecutor of Teheran has confirmed on Saturday, Hossein Musavian has been arrested on Monday. Investigation against former official in Iran’s National Security Council is being conducted by Iran’s ministry of investigation of and no details of the put forward charges will be disclosed.
Musavian was considered as the moderate conservative and was close to other former Iranian President Ali Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani. Rafsanjani participated in the last presidential elections of the country - in 2005 - and has lost to Mahmud Ahmadinejad.
Ahmadinejad, who has taken more uncompromising position in reply to the fears of the West connected with the nuclear program of Iran, has replaced many diplomats, and participated in negotiations on this question, including Musavian.
Iran insists that its program of enrichment of uranium is directed on manufacture of the electric power, instead of the nuclear weapon, but there is no full confidence of sincerity of applications of Teheran among the international community. On this basis the EU Security Council has entered the limited sanctions against Iran and has added additional restrictions to them.
Musavian is being kept in Teheran prison Evin, which has bad reputation.
Arrest of Musavian has caused a shock in Iran as this person was never considered as the supporter of reforms or the opponent of Islamic system in the country.
In view of his affinity to the former president and in general to the Iranian establishment, many people consider Musavian’s arrest as an attribute of an aggravation of struggle for authority between Ahmadinejad and more moderate grouping inside of the maximum Islamic clergy.

The president of the USA Georges Bush has put a veto for the bill of assignments for military actions in Iraq and Afghanistan. The document also establishes the terms of withdrawal of American armies from Iraq.
The government of Iraq supports the decision of the US government. The Iraqi leaders have criticized the American members of parliament for approval of the bill on withdrawal of armies from the country till March, 31st 2008. Iraqi leaders consider this as one more step to activization of the armed extremists in the country.
Earlier Iraq’s Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki has declared that he does not see the necessity for an establishment of exact term of withdrawal of American contingent from its country. As he said, such operation can take place only after the government of Iraq would be able to control the situation in the country.
On April, 26th, 2007, the American Senate has approved the law, providing the withdrawal of US armies from Iraq which, according to the document, should start not later than on October, 1st 2007, and to come to the end within 6 months. However on April, 28th, 2007, Bush has promised to put a veto for the law. The democratic party of the USA insisted on that the president “has heeded a voice of American people” and has signed the bill.
The president of the United States has fulfilled the promise, notwithstanding the fact that only in April, 2007, more than 100 Us soldiers were killed in Iraq. Last month became the most bloody after December 2006, when 112 American militaries were killed. In total from the beginning of campaign in March 2003, 3 thousand 351 US soldiers were killed in Iraq.

USA is not sure about the future integrity of Iraq

The president of the USA Georges Bush will not sign certificates, in which the discontent of Washington concerning activity of the Iraq leaders is shown. Such application has been made by the American State Secretary Condoleeza Rice. Rice has also added that the US government cannot limit their actions and prove that they will settle a situation in Iraq because its leaders cannot do this: it will deprive US government with flexibility and creativity, necessary for advance.
After this the State Secretary has assured that US government has informed the government of Iraq, and it has understood - what will be Iraq in the future and it depends on the activity of its leaders today. Rice has emphasized that the USA cannot provide to Iraqis united Iraq.
The American Congress considers the opportunity of drawing up of the official application in which the appeal to the government will contain to accelerate process of settlement of a situation in this country. The democratic party of the USA also hopes that the bill on withdrawal of armies from Iraq by April 2008, approved by both chambers of the Congress, will force the Iraq government to operate more actively.
Let’s emphasize, that the acceptance by the senate and the House of Representatives of the Congress of the decision on withdrawal of American armies from Iraq by March, 31st 2008, has displeased the authorities of the country. One of the representatives of Iraq government has told that they see a lot of negative parties in this law and it can negatively affect the political life of the country. In his opinion, such decision of the USA can lead to activization of the armed extremists.
Earlier the prime minister of Iraq has declared that he does not see the necessity for the establishment of exact term of withdrawal of American contingent from Iraq.
