British authorities have finally decided to refuse use “war with terrorism” (”war on terror”) expression on official level, in politicians’ speeches and newspapers’ headings. The reasons of a similar step were explained by British International Development Secretary Hilary Benn.
British International Development Secretary, who’s opinion is shared by her many colleagues in UK Parliament and UK Government has explained that British people are not going to use the use the “war on terror” expression because they cannot win here with military methods only and also because it is struggle not with one organized enemy, who’s image and purposes are precisely certain. According to Hilary Benn’s words, the terrorists represent “the indistinct, changeable and isolated groupings”.
Hilary Benn has emphasized that these groupings wish to lobby their private and selfish interests without dialogue and discussion, but buy the way of violence. And when they are allowed to feel a part of something big and significant, they are given more power.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the United Kingdom has refused to the use the “war on terror” term in December, 2007. Meanwhile, the London’s nearest ally - Washington - continues to insist on continuation on its further using.
This term has initially been used by the president of the USA Georges Bush just after the acts of terrorism on September, 11th, 2001.
The terrorism has been represented as the uniform rallied front in public performances of politicians and mass media of many countries within several years.
