The leader of “Al-Qaeda” Turkish grouping has threatened Turkey with jihad
During session of the court, passing in Istanbul above participants of acts of terrorism in November, 2003 (when 61 people were killed and more than 600 people have been wounded), the leader of “Al-Qaeda” Turkish grouping has threatened Turkey with jihad.
Making his last speech, Loai Mohammad al-Saqa (Syrian terrorist, the ex-member of the terrorist grouping) said that the victory is close; he asked not to be thought and said that, after being released, he would take up arms and join brigades of jihad.
Turkish authorities accuse Loai Mohammad al-Saqa in the organization of explosions of the mined motor vehicles at general consulate of the Great Britain, the affiliate of London HSBC bank and a synagogue in Istanbul on November, 15-20th, 2003.
As it has been investigated, the acts of terrorism have been lead under the order of Osama of the bin Laden- the chapter of “Al-Qaeda” international terrorist grouping- and al-Saqa has received about $170 thousand on their realization.
The state charge demands to sentence the leader of “Al-Qaeda” Turkish grouping to life imprisonment on the basis of the “attempt of violent overthrow of a political system of Turkish Republic”, “creation of the armed grouping with the purpose of crimes commitment”.
Al-Saqa has been arrested in Turkey in August, 2005 when he (together with the group of accomplices) intended to blow up cruise liner with Israeli tourists in Antalya. Al-Saqa has prepared a ton of an explosive.
Now the investigation concerning acts of terrorism in Istanbul has entered its finishing stage. The verdict is expected to be announced after the last speech of nine defendants.
