American military contingent in Germany will not reduced because of Russia
Pentagon postpones reduction of a military contingent in Germany at least for two years. As Pentagon’s press-secretary has informed, “Command has made a decision to postpone redislocation of army brigades billeted in Germany “.
Analysts mark, that delays with realization of this plan are connected with fears of Washington in occasion of military-political confrontation with Russia.
However Pentagon has declared, that the decision accepted today, is “temporary” and it is connected with unavailability of bases in Texas and New Mexico to accept military men at originally certain terms.
Earlier the US Defense Ministry planned to return home two brigades till 2011. However, by inquiry of the chapter of US command in Europe Pentagon has disposed to postpone redislocation of one brigade till 2012 and another one - till 2013.
Idea of reduction of US military contingent in the Europe from 68 thousand person in 2001 up to 28 thousand in 2012 belongs was to the chapter of the Pentagon.
Fears of the USA are caused with the fact of the announcement of Russia’s moratorium on discharge of duties on membership in the Contract about usual armed forces in the Europe. The given moratorium means, that now the Russian Federation is not obliged to give to other members the information on the armies; besides on the part of the European continent Moscow can place arms and military contingent, proceeding exclusively from national interests.
