The president of Iraq: Kurdish insurgents do not want war
Kurdish separatists are ready to declare the termination of operations. It can be connected with an increasing pressure in connection with threats of Turkey to intrude in Iraq and to begin war against Kurdish insurgents.
Such application has been by made the president of Iraq Jalal Talabani. The given information has been confirmed in administration of the head of the state later. However, details are not informed.
In turn Turkey is also measured to search for peace ways of Kurdish separatists’ problem solving. Such application has been made by the Minister for Foreign Affairs of Turkey. It has been said that Turkey will continue searches of peace decisions of the problem connected with Kurdish insurgents. But if in result they will not manage to solve this question by means of diplomatic methods, they will have to apply force.
On the eve, on October, 21st, Kurdish extremists have attacked Turkish military men near border with Iraq. As Kurdish separatists declare, they have killed 16 and have wounded 20 Turkish soldiers.
In reply to insurgents’ attack Turkish authorities have lead special action during which 32 Kurdish insurgents have been killed. Losses of the Turkish party, on different data, have made from 12 up to 17 soldiers.
The president of the USA Georges Bush has called Kurdish separatists for the immediate termination of terrorist attacks to Turkey.
