Pakistani Ex-Prime-Minister’s convoy has been attacked: 133 people were killed
Convoy of Benazir Bhutto, the ex-Prime Minister of Pakistan, has been attacked on its way from Karachi airport to a welcome rally.
At once two explosions have thundered near former prime-minister’s car.
As it has been informed, Bhutto has not suffered and has reached the residence in Karachi; however, a lot of people, who accompanied her, have suffered. On preliminary data, 133 bodies of victims are revealed on a place of explosion and more than 240 people are wounded.
According to the Pakistan police, one explosion has thundered in immediate proximity from the Bhutto’s car. Then it was followed with second (more powerful) explosion.
It is not excluded, that this attack has political underlying reason - the only in history of Pakistan the woman-prime-minister, who has only returned home after 8-years residing abroad, is going to participate in parliamentary elections. Analysts mark, that she has chances of a victory as significant number of Pakistanis are supporting her.
It is not also excluded, that Bhutto can undergo to prosecution from operating authorities and president. Ex-prime-minister has been sent in resignation from a post in 1996 because of charges in corruption.
