Sri Lanka naval forces have sunk off three LTTE’s boats
During armed conflict naval forces of Sri Lanka have sunk off three boats, belonging to Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE). At least 20 LTTE rebels and a Sri Lankan Navy trooper were killed.
Military spokesman Brig Udayakkara has also added, that during firing one military man of Naval Forces of Sri Lanka was lost, and one more seaman has received wounds and has been hospitalized.
LTTE’s representatives have not given any comments on this information.
In the beginning of July armed forces of Sri Lanka have grasped last bastion of Tamilnet separatists in the east of the country and then the center of opposition between the government and Tamilnet insurgents has displaced from the east of island on the north and in the center.
Opposition between LTTE and the government of Sri Lanka, representing the Singhalese majority, proceeds since 1983. Separatists conduct the armed struggle for creation of the independent state in northern and east areas of island mainly occupied by Tamilnets.
