“Hamas” is not expecting for fair policy from Tony Blair
The Palestinian radical movement “Hamas” has negatively estimated the decision of “quartet” of the international intermediaries on Near-Eastern settlement to appoint the former prime minister of the Great Britain Tony Blair their representative in the Near East.
As the “Hamas”’s official mass-media representative has quoted, they do not expect, that Tony Blair will lead fair policy and fairly to consider the questions, concerning the Palestinian-Israeli conflict and other Arabian states. In his opinion, Tony Blair (in view of “his” basic problems) will choose the proIsraeli position.
In the meantime authorities of Israel welcomed new purpose of the British ex-prime-minister, explaining this as the fact that they consider, that Tony Blair perfectly understands Near-Eastern situation, understands it from within and will render the extremely positive influence on peace-making process in region. And the prime minister of Israel E.Olmert has named Tony Blair as “the true friend” of Israelis and Palestinians.
Unlike “Hamas”’s position, representatives of Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas welcomed Tony Blair’s as the representative from “quartet” in the Near East, considering, that Blair can renew political process between Palestine and Israel.
