US Secretary of State has called Turkey to not interfere in Iraq
US Secretary of State Condoleeza Rice has called Turkey to not interfere into Iraq. She has also warned that scale military operation against Kurdish insurgents in the north of Iraq can heat conditions in the Near East. As Condoleeza Rice has noted, Turkish intrusion will not bring anything good to anybody - neither Turkey, nor to Iraq.
On May, 30th, 2007 military command of Turkey has made a decision to concentrate on southern border of the country a plenty of a military contingent and heavy techniques. Military divisions have been directed to frontier area with Iraq, tanks and armored troop-carriers.
Representatives of command have declared that redislocation and escalating of presence at region are the precautionary measure for prevention of penetration of the Kurdish insurgents connected with Kurdish working party on territory of Turkey.
According to Turkish militaries, the salvation of Kurdish problem should be a common cause of Iraq and Turkey, as nearby 6 thousand insurgents of Kurdish movement operate in mountain areas of two countries’ border.
In the beginning of June information that Turkish armies have intruded on territory of Iraq has appeared, however local residents have not confirmed this information, and later the fact of intrusion has been officially denied by Ankara.
